Furuya Metal CSR Charter

Furuya Metal has established this CSR Charter to define the principles guiding the company’s commitment to responsible corporate conduct.

Furuya Metal CSR Charter

At Furuya Metal, we remain committed to our corporate philosophy: “Contributing to the advancement of science and technology and to the prosperity of society.”
We believe that putting this philosophy into practice in our daily business activities—while generating sound profits and fulfilling our tax obligations—is a fundamental aspect of our social responsibility as a corporate citizen.
To uphold this commitment, we have established the Furuya Metal CSR Charter as a code of conduct that all employees are expected to follow. By adhering to these principles, we aim to contribute to the creation of a sustainable society.

Corporate governance

We conduct our corporate activities with accountability and transparency, proactively disclosing information to all stakeholders and working to maximize corporate value.

Human rights

Furuya Metal strictly prohibits any form of discrimination based on nationality, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, political or philosophical beliefs, age, social status, disability, or marital status under any circumstances.

Labor practices

We prioritize workplace safety and strive to create an open, healthy, and secure environment where every employee can fully demonstrate their abilities and potential.

Environment

Every employee recognizes the importance of protecting our irreplaceable global environment. Beyond practicing good citizenship in daily life, we contribute to environmental preservation through our business activities, including the development of products that reduce environmental impact and the recycling of resources.

Fair business practices

All employees act with integrity and sound judgment as responsible corporate citizens. We conduct our business in strict compliance with laws, social norms, and ethical standards, and we do not associate with, nor tolerate, any individuals or organizations that threaten social order or corporate integrity.

Consumer issues

We strive to earn the trust and satisfaction of our business partners by providing high-quality, safe products and services that meet their needs and expectations.

Community involvement

We value harmony and coexistence with the local communities in which we operate. As a responsible corporate citizen, we contribute to vibrant and prosperous communities through both our business activities and a wide range of social contribution initiatives.

Sustainability Policy

In January 2022, Furuya Metal established the Furuya Metal CSR Charter, reaffirming our corporate philosophy of “contributing to the advancement of science and technology and the prosperity of society” through precious metal products and our commitment to addressing sustainability challenges, including social and environmental issues.
We are committed to improving the global environment through initiatives such as recycling rare precious metals, developing new technologies to reduce precious metal consumption, and developing and manufacturing catalysts that contribute to environmental improvement.
We also regard the development of technologies and exploration of new business fields that support the transition toward a green society as one of our key management priorities.
Regarding raw material procurement, we have established a Responsible Minerals Procurement Policy, under which we ensure that we do not procure materials associated with conflicts, terrorism financing, human rights violations, or money laundering.
Furthermore, we have established a process for identifying material issues that create both economic value and social and environmental value. This process involves continuous dialogue and collaboration with internal and external experts and stakeholders, ensuring that our goals and performance indicators align with their expectations and support.

Framework

The Furuya Metal Group has established Sustainability Committee Regulations to guide efforts in addressing environmental and social challenges that support a sustainable society and the Group’s long-term growth. Under the supervision of the Board of Directors, this framework ensures that sustainability matters are appropriately discussed and managed.
The Sustainability Committee, chaired by the President, includes directors, operating officers, department heads, and sustainability representatives, and promotes cross-functional initiatives across the organization.
