Major activities
Support for the national sports festival and the national sports festival for people with disabilities
Through its sponsorship of the National Sports Festival and the National Sports Festival for People with Disabilities, Furuya Metal contributes to the realization of vibrant and inclusive communities.
In 2024, the company served as an official supporter of SAGA2024, held in Saga Prefecture in October. We are also sponsoring WataSHIGA Kagayaku Kokutai / Shospo 2025, which will take place in Shiga Prefecture in 2025.
Going forward, Furuya Metal will continue to support these national events as an official supporter, helping to create communities where everyone can shine and participate equally.
Providing evacuation facilities in the event of a nuclear power plant accident
On July 8, 2024, Furuya Metal signed a memorandum of understanding with Ibaraki Prefecture to provide evacuation facilities in the event of a nuclear emergency.
This agreement was made in response to a request from the prefectural government as part of protective measures to minimize radiation exposure for residents living near the Japan Atomic Power Company’s Tokai No.2 Power Station in the event of a nuclear disaster.
Under the agreement, a section of the Tsukuba Plant will be designated as an evacuation site, capable of accommodating approximately 70 people.
As a company based in Ibaraki Prefecture, we are committed to supporting local communities by contributing to disaster preparedness and public safety.
Factory perimeter cleanup by employees
At the Tsukuba Plant, employees regularly participate in cleanup activities around the plant to help beautify the local environment and contribute to the community.
In addition to collecting litter, they also check for suspicious objects or damage to nearby facilities, helping to ensure safety and maintain good relations with the surrounding community.
Sponsorship of the Chikusei fireworks festival
In 2024, Furuya Metal proudly sponsored the Chikusei Fireworks Festival, held every October in Chikusei City, home to our Tsukuba Plant.
This year’s festival celebrated the 20th anniversary of Chikusei City and featured more than 20,000 fireworks, along with spectacular performances by some of Ibaraki Prefecture’s most renowned pyrotechnicians.
Through this sponsorship, we aim to energize the local community and support the preservation of Japan’s rich traditional cultural heritage.
Sponsorship of the Kasumigaura Marathon
Furuya Metal sponsored the Kasumigaura Marathon and International Blind Marathon 2025, held on April 20 in Tsuchiura City and Kasumigaura City, home to our Tsuchiura Plant.
Through this sponsorship, we aim to foster connections with local residents, support regional development, and promote employee health and well-being.
A total of 15 employees participated in the race as runners, while many others supported the event by cheering along the course.
